Clinical Supervision

Clinical Supervision is extremely important in the psychotherapy and counselling professions for trainees, newly qualified practitioners and more experienced therapists alike.

In the interests of both clients and therapists, most psychotherapy and counselling professional bodies (e.g. COSCA, BABCP, HCPC, UKCP, BABP etc.) require members to incorporate regular Clinical Supervision into their clinical practice.

Clinical Supervision is a professional service, rather than a managerial role. It involves finding a fellow professional practitioner who has sufficient training, knowledge and experience to support you in your work with clients. Clinical Supervision also involves reviewing your work with clients, discussing professional development and exploring personal issues too, if necessary.

More Information

PLEASE NOTE: we will begin offering Clinical Supervision in Spring 2018.

There is now an expectation that therapists engage in regular Clinical Supervision to develop and maintaini high standards of clinical and professional practice.

  • We can provide Clinical Supervision to both trainee and qualified therapists.
  • Appointments are arranged by you and your Associate Clinical Supervisor and last between 50-55 minutes.
  • Appointments must be paid for in cash, given to your Associate Clinical Supervisor at the end of your session.
  • Clinical Supervision takes place at our office based in Glasgow city centre.
  • We work with independent Associates to offer professional Clinical Supervision at affordable prices. Our current rates are: £40 per session (Members of The CBT’ers Club); £50 per session (non-Members of The CBT’ers Club).
  • Our Associate Clinical Supervisors are independent (i.e. not employed by us). However, we do require all of our Associates to complete application forms, attend interviews and provide references before they are engaged as Associate Clinical Supervisors. They are all fully qualified therapists who have current PVGs, have completed further training in Clinical Supervision, have professional memberships and engage in ongoing CPD.
  • If you need to cancel your appointment, please provide your Clinical Supervisor with at least 48 hours notice, otherwise full payment of the fee will be required. If you cannot attend because of an emergency, please let your Clinical Supervisor know as soon as possible. In the event of emergency, the fee will be waived, although the £15 room hire fee will still have to be paid by you.
  • If you have any questions or require any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
